Why Trust the Bible?
"The Bible is filled with errors and contradictions."

Although people claim that the Bible has many contradictions, most are hard pressed to point to even a single example. When alleged contradictions are discovered, two simple steps usually resolve them quickly: (1) examine the Scripture in its context, and( 2) compare that Scripture with other Scriptures.

"Christians believe the Bible is the source of absolute truth, but there is no such thing as absolute truth."

When people say, "there is no such thing as absolute truth," they are actually – and ironically – asserting that absolute truth exists! Without absolute truth, the statement "there is no such thing as X" would be meaningless! So saying "it is true that there is no such thing as truth" is self-contradictory!
The only real question is not whether truth exists, but rather what IS truth!
Fortunately we don't have to guess at the answer. Because the Bible can be clearly demonstrated to be the Word of God, we know that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life!

"Science has disproved the Bible."

There is a difference between scientific fact and scientific theory. Proven science has never contradicted nor disproved the Bible. In fact, advance scientific principles relating to thermodynamics, hydrology, astronomy, geology, meteorology, biology, and other disciplines are reflected with 100% accuracy throughout Scripture.
What's more, far from contradicting science, the Bible has consistently proven to be hundreds of years AHEAD of prevailing scientific thought. For example, the pre-15th century consensus was that the earth was flat. As explorers like Magellan and Columbus sailed the oceans and never fell off the edge, however, the scientific community finally caught up to what God, through the prophet Isaiah, wrote in 730 BC: "It is He (God) who sits above the circle of the earth."
It's true that some current scientific theories, notably evolution, remain at odds with Scripture. Keep in mind, however, that even evolution's most die-hard proponents acknowledge that it is scientific theory, not scientific fact. Because science purposefully eliminates all things supernatural from its analysis, the theory of evolution is by definition an attempt to explain the world without reference to God – an attempt which a growing number of non-Christian scientists acknowledge must be viewed with skepticism.

"The Bible was written by man, not God."

Even though mere men like Moses, Matthew, and John recorded the words of Scripture, the Bible itself claims to be divinely authored by God. What evidence supports such a claim, that the Bible is the inspired Word of God?
Of the many proofs establishing that God ultimately wrote the Bible, among the most compelling is prophecy. The Bible set forth dates, places, and even names from human history centuries BEFORE the events described even happened!
For example, over 700 years before Christ was born, the prophet Micah prophesied that the Messiah would be born in a small, unremarkable village called Bethlehem. Other parts of the Bible record dozens more specific, detailed prophecies written far in advance, but fulfilled perfectly by the person of Jesus Christ.
No human being, bound by space and time, could have predicted with such detail events that would not unfold for centuries. And no one could have arranged for a single person to fulfill every prophecy recorded with such precision. But the Bible – written by God – does so time and time again.
